WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN COMING TO DAY TREATMENT AT BRIDGEWAY

The Bridges to Success Day Treatment Program takes a holistic approach to serving youth and their families. The treatment model is designed to fit busy schedules and provide a therapeutic yet fun atmosphere for teens. We know that working with young adults requires an approach that is not only clinically sound but also engaging and enriching. Beyond the clinical interventions that are so important to getting life back on track, you will find a team of counselors who work hard to make sure everyone finds something they enjoy doing. Recreation and cultivating a habit of sober activities is a critical component of learning to live and socialize without a dependence on drugs or alcohol. Our staff focus on providing those tools and life skills to each young person we work with. Recreation and fellowship building among peers is a powerful tool in the toolbox of wellness.

If you choose to come to Bridgeway there are a few things to prepare for before you get here. Counselors will work with teens and parents/guardians using evidence based tools to make sure they have a full and clear understanding of all of the presenting concerns. The first step is a comprehensive assessment which takes about 1.5 – 2 hours of your time to complete. This process is important because it’s critical to consider all factors so that each family gets care that is individualized to their specific needs.

The Assessment is used to evaluate 10 core areas:

  • Family history
  • Substance use
  • Physical health
  • Risk behaviors and disease prevention
  • Mental and emotional health
  • Environment and living situation
  • Strengths and supports
  • Educational strengths and deficits
  • Legal
  • Vocational

Post assessment, a comprehensive treatment plan is collaboratively developed with counselor, client and family. The frequency, intensity, and type of services needed are agreed upon and scheduled.

  • Group education and therapy
  • Individual therapy
  • Family counseling
  • Psychiatric services
  • Educational assistance
  • Job readiness skills
  • Career exploration and planning
  • Life skills training
  • Coordinated case management services for healthcare
  • School and juvenile court needs
  • Transportation assistance (provided through additional funding sources)

Clients may access all of the available treatment components. Services are individualized based on clients needs and preferences.

Each client that is successfully discharged (as opposed to dropping through non attendance) is provided a discharge plan that includes referrals to community resources and recovery support information. Clients are encouraged to come back to BtS for support whenever needed.
