Mike Morrison

Mike has been working in the Substance Abuse Treatment field since 1979. He is in recovery from addiction himself and, consequently, is a huge believer in the benefits of treatment. After years of active alcohol and drug addiction that devastated his life and his family’s life, he entered a 30-day residential program and completed nearly a year of Aftercare. Mike frequently talks about how, prior to getting clean and sober, his life was a series of failures, disappointments, and regrets. He was scared, depressed, angry, and ashamed. After getting into recovery, Mike completed his college education, became a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, regained the respect of family and friends, learned to become a responsible and productive adult, and raised a family.
Over the past 35 years, Mike has worked at several private sector, hospital-based treatment programs, started his own outpatient treatment organization, and worked in the non-profit arena. He has conducted numerous trainings for organizations both locally and nationally, developed several client workbooks and training curriculum, and been a speaker at many conferences. Recently, Mike was awarded the Pioneer Award from the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency.
Mike has been at Bridgeway for 15 years and been the CEO since 2009. His vision for Bridgeway is to become the treatment provider of choice in this region by ensuring that every client who enters Bridgeway leaves with the tools necessary to live happier, healthier, and more productive lives.
