The in-Custody Treatment Program is a voluntary program embedded within the St. Louis County Justice Center.  Participants in the program must be between the ages 17-19  and been admitted to the Justice Center Housing Units for offenses that are drug related or found to be  in need of some form of treatment.

Treatment consists of evidence based practices for substance abuse consisting of Moral Reconation Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. In addition the following services are provided:

  • Individual Counseling
  • Early Recovery Skills Groups
  • Relapse Prevention Groups
  • Re-entry risk evaluation
  • Contingency Management
  • Social Supports
  • GED Preparation
  • Re-entry Services and Discharge Planning

The Re-Entry Specialist works with the individual to comprehensively assess their needs in the areas of substance abuse recovery, health management, education, housing, employment and social supports. An individualized treatment plan is developed that includes goals and methods that address issues discovered during the assessment.  In addition, discharge plans are made that will enable the young person to continue working on their goals upon release from the justice center.  All individuals are given the option to continue working with Bridgeway to maintain treatment services post-release.

This program is funded through the St. Louis County Children’s Service Fund.
