Bridgeway Behavioral Health offers many options for Outpatient Treatment Services at several locations throughout the St.Louis Metropolitan area and its outlying counties. At every instance possible, we work to individualize your treatment so that it best fits your needs.

There are different levels of service, whether you are stepping down from another level of care or just starting treatment, outpatient programming can fit into your schedule to so that you can achieve and maintain recovery from drugs and alcohol.


 Each level of care has some or all of the following components:

Each day of treatment is mapped out to provide you with a reliable structure and routine. Day Treatment programming is Monday through Friday a minimum of 6 hours per day and will include the following based on individualized need:

  • Group Therapy daily on topics such as:
    • Triggers and Cravings
    • Relapse Prevention
    • Identity and Self-worth
    • Health Issues
    • Behavior Modification
    • Parenting
    • Exercise and Nutrition
    • Resentments
    • Self Discovery
    • Anger Management
    • Healthy Communication
    • Co-Dependency
    • More…
  • One on one counseling with your counselor at least 1 time per week
  • Full-time RN on staff for medical assessments, education, and referrals
  • Access to all of the other BBH resources on campus – community support specialist, sexual assault counselor, gambling addiction counseling, peer support services
  • Full service staffed kitchen with 3 meals served daily
  • Fitness Center
  • Group hikes down the Katy Trail, weather permitting
  • Assistance with discharge planning and community supports to prepare you when you leave
  • Fellowship with other adults who are working recovery programs
  • Access to AA/NA meetings

Intensive Outpatient Services are focused around group therapy, group education and individual counseling with case management support. Individual counseling sessions are at least bi-weekly and Group Therapy and Education comprise of 10 hours weekly. Medication Assisted Treatment and access to Psychiatric services are available if needed.

Once you have reached the maintenance phase of your recovery you will move on to Aftercare. This level of care is there for as long as you need it, however, at this stage you should have some systems outside of the treatment setting that support your sobriety. While in aftercare you will receive the following services:

  • 1-2 times per week group therapy
  • Individuals 1x per month
  • Individualized programming based on your progress
  • Counseling on how to structure outside life with sober supports
  • Coping skills and tools
  • Resource linkages if needed.

If at any point you need to re-admit to a more intensive level of treatment, your counselors will assist you.

What is expected of you?

The counselors and technicians are here to help you achieve your recovery goals. You will be presented with many tools, techniques and honest feedback of your addiction and how to recover and stay in recovery. You will be given the tools you need to create a life for yourself that is completely different than the one you were living while you were using.

The only thing we expect of you is that you pick up those tools and use them. It is up to you to come to be willing and ready, to be honest, present and willing so that you can re-work and re-build your life in a way that makes you feel whole and healthy.
